Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With their strong nonlinear mapping capability and performance in rapidly processing massive data, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have achieved breakthroughs in several scientific fields, offering new opportunities for seismic exploration. This special issue aims to gather a collection of original research articles that propose or utilize innovative AI technologies to solve theoretical and practical problems in seismic exploration, which bring novel solutions for seismic data processing, inversion, high-resolution imaging, interpretation, etc. We invite submissions from researchers in geophysics, signal processing, artificial intelligence and applied mathematics to participate in this special issue. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

(1) Seismic data processing (denoising, interpolation, frequency-band extrapolation, arrival time picking, and resolution enhancement, etc);

(2) Full waveform inversion enhanced by deep learning;

(3) Seismic high-resolution imaging;

(4) Advanced deep learning architectures and their applications in seismic exploration;

(5) Foundation model for seismic exploration;

(6) Intelligent seismic interpretation;

(7) Scientific machine learning in geophysics;

(8) Seismic forward modeling.
