Prof. Dr. Suping Peng Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) Director of the State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining Research Interests: seismic exploration research: advanced detection of fine geological structures and potential subsurface geological hazards

We are delighted to announce that Professor Suping Peng, a distinguished expert in coal geology and geophysical exploration for mining engineering, has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Seismic Exploration.

Professor Peng is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and currently serves as the Director of the Department of Energy and Mining Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also a Professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Coal Resources and Safe Mining.

With a long-standing dedication to coal geology and geophysical exploration in mining engineering, Professor Peng has made remarkable contributions to the research and application of geophysical technologies in mine geology. His work focuses on fine-scale geological structure detection in coal mines, exploration technology and equipment for mine hazard sources, and related engineering applications. His expertise and leadership will greatly advance the journal’s mission to promote cutting-edge research in seismic exploration and its applications.
